After spending time at this property we got the opportunity to upgraded to the Nirvana Suites, you don’t get just a hotel room, not even just a suite. You get a whole estate to yourself.
It comes complete with an 18 meter lap pool, landscaped gardens with flowers and fruit trees, a yoga and recreation room, a semi-outdoor table-tennis area and a rooftop sit-out with a panoramic view of the rice fields of Penestanan.
You have your own fully-equipped kitchen, with butler service, and your own dining room that can seat six – so you can even entertain guests for a private lunch or dinner, in a way you could never do in any hotel.
If you don’t feel like cooking, you can have meals delivered to you from The Banana Leaf restaurant which is a short walk away.
You can have massages on-site, or at the Kama Sutra spa, which is next door to the estate and offers a range of health and beauty treatments.
Designed by the talented Balinese architect Awan Sukhro Edhi, Nirvana Suites comprises two exquisite suites, called the Writer’s Suite and the Artist’s Suite.
Each one is differently decorated but they have some common features. The floor tiles are hand-made by artisans. The furniture is custom-designed. Each suite has a separate dressing area and a Balinese style semi-outdoor bathroom, equipped with a rainshower and jacuzzi.
A private patio looks out onto the pool. A spiral staircase leads you to the rooftop with a breathtaking view. There is a retractable roof so that you can be fully open to the sky, or not, if you choose. Each suite has its own rooftop sitout.
You can book either both suites which will give you the entire estate to yourself; or you can book either one of the Writer’s Suite or the Artist’s Suite. Each suite is designed for two guests, but can accommodate three, with a spare bed.
If you book one of the suites, you will still have your privacy – the suites are set quite a distance away from each other and are self-contained with their own bedrooms, patios, dining areas and kitchens – and the pool is huge. But having both suites for yourself and your family would be extra special. Whilst traveling with a friend the artist and writers suites were awesome, although on our last night she left and someone else got the other suite and it did seem strange, sharing the pool with strangers when the set up is so intimate, it was like they were intruding.
