5 miles from Angkor Wat, this elegant colonial-style hotel, fronted by 15 acres of gardens and a raised portico represents “Asian hospitality at its best.” This legendary meeting place combines old-world grandeur with peace and tranquillity in one of the world’s most spiritual destinations. From the moment of arrival when cooling towels are offered this hotel and its lovely staff make you feel truly at home. Special touches include the wrought iron lobby elevator, black-and-white marble floors, Khmer furniture, and staff in beautiful uniforms, reminiscent of past eras. Rooms and suites are beautifully appointed with Art Deco country furnishings and Cambodian paintings, many original features, as well as all modern amenities. Most have balconies, or patios that open to views of the pool or French gardens. All come with butler service. The enormous pool is surrounded by frangipani trees, and reminiscent of the ancient Royal swimming pool at, nearby Srah Sarang.
After a long and amazing day hiking the temples of the Angkor area, this hotel and spa is the perfect respite. The spa was simple but the services were excellent and reasonable.
Breakfast is fantastic and can be taken both inside or on the terrace overlooking the pool & garden, but would recommend sampling local cuisine, and downtown scene of Siem Reap in the evening.
Stay at Raffles Grand Hotel d’ Angkor, you will NOT be disappointed !
Loved looking at all your photos. What a beautiful hotel! The old elevator is charming and hearkens back to yesteryear.
